Professor B:

On Tuesday, March 25th I will be welcoming a Guest Post from an individual who needs little introduction to past classmates.

Prof B comes to TMWTFS with an article that demonstrates the significance of recent events in the credit markets and their impact on the financial system as a whole. I have yet to receive the finalized draft, but from conversations with him over the past week I anticipate nothing short of what many of us have come to expect from him: An opportunity to revisit historical events and how they apply to the significance of events today.

For readers who are not acquainted with Prof B:

He is a retired MBA professor who taught Strategic Management after spending years in the private sector as a consultant to many large multinational corporations. His passions for teaching, enabling young minds and breaking through barriers of entry remain today one of the foremost impacts on my approach to Value Investing.

From these teachings and mentorship I developed my methods of The Prince, Attracting $1 Customers, Situational Analysis, Importance/Assessment of Management, Never Competing on Price, The 5% Rule and Importance of a Sustained Competitive Advantage.

If you have read these posts or know my Value Approach well enough then his influence and guidance will be apparent.

For real Brad? I bet you brought him back a nice bottle of aged scotch from your trip and somehow this is how he pays you back. What a guy. Too bad I was always his favourite!!!

We all know who his favourite WASN’T Marcus. I just hope that the old dog is still allowed to use the computer after the “anchor” found out that he missed that baptism to go out for beers last summer. Any of us would have one hell of a time deciphering that handwriting if it wasn’t typed out

How’s that AGF portfolio for Travis doing Mark? I haven’t had time to check lately but the last time I did the TD e-portfolio was substantially winning out. And yes, he did get a nice aged bottle of scotch after the trip but I wasn’t willing to pay out of my own pocket for his specific tastes and I was reimbursed for the cost.

Eric; he hasn’t mentioned the baptism for quite some time to my knowledge, but I would have done almost anything to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. I think she kept him at home for a few weekends away from the greens as punishment.
