The Value of Stock Market Research:

Thicken My Wallet is publishing a two part insider series today and tomorrow on the value of stock market research to retail & Do-It-Yourself (DIY) investors.

Preet from Where Does All My Money Go (WDAMMG), Thicken My Wallet (TMW) and myself (Nurseb911) are participating in a three way discussion that focuses on:

  • Research generated by the investment industry vs. independent research
  • Conflicts of interest within the industry
  • How a DIY investor can improve their returns and exposure to risk using some key fundamentals

The discussion is very informative and something I thoroughly enjoyed participating in.

If there are additional questions or comments feel free to reply here at the end of this post or on Thicken My Wallet.

If you enjoyed this discussion and would like to suggest another topic please let me know for a discussion in future content.

Hi Brad – I really enjoyed reading your research. I think there is a law of diminishing returns that occurs when someone analyzes too much, but the level of detail you go into is close to ideal for a guy like me.

    Thanks TMW!

Preet – As I mentioned on your site it was a great opportunity for me to learn some more about the “other side of the desk” in the financial services industry. I think concentrating on the simple things, for any investor, is what Buffett and other “great” investors so successful. You can over analyze any situation, but when you see a company clearly for what it is that’s a powerful skill when investing.
